Granville County Sheriff Rejects Flock Cameras

At the Creedmoor Music Festival on Saturday, September 19, 2026 I had the pleasure of catching up with the Granville County Sheriff, Robert Fountain, Jr. I have gotten to know him well over the last few years. In August he held a town hall about the potential for Granville County to install Flock Cameras. During and after the meeting, Sheriff Fountain listened to the people of Granville County. 

No Flock Cameras in Granville County as long as he is sheriff.

This is great news. I understand why cities, counties, and law enforcement agencies look at the potential of these cameras. However, if one truly looks into the outcomes and potential negatives, the only reasonable outcome is to reject Flock cameras in specific and mass surveillance in general.

Sheriff Fountain has done this and we should all be thankful for him and law enforcement officers like him committed to solving crime and respecting the rights of all people at the same time!
